General English

In this course you will learn and improve your English by speaking, listening, reading and writing. You will study grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation and work on accuracy and fluency skills. You will improve your level by studying a wide range of interesting and fun topics that break up the intensity of coursework.
Intensive English

These courses feature a combination of general language improvement and communications skills work. The focus is on improving grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation as well as developing the 4 key skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing.
One to one tuition

At York English School we believe there is no ‘typical’ person who chooses individual tuition. You may feel that a group course is simply not suitable; you may have limited time available, or you may want the trainer to be able to focus 100 percent on your needs. Accordingly we offer a program of individual tuition recognising that everyone is different, so the training content is entirely flexible to suit you.
Executive programs

If you are looking to improve your English skills for professional or managerial purposes and communicate better in business situations this course is right for you. The York English School study program will be customised to the needs and interests of the students in the class. On a weekly basis you will benefit from your General English class which is then supplemented with 10 hours one to one tuition.
Exam Preparation

The following exams are recognised throughout Great Britain and many other countries around the world. These assess various aspects of the English language: listening, speaking, use of English, reading and writing. Our aim at York English School is to provide you with the skills to be successful in your future use of the language focusing on the exam techniques required.
